This 2019 $3 fine silver coin takes you on a coastal drive. Sweeping ocean views, lighthouses, sandy beaches and more are just some of the views that Canada’s coasts have to offer.  This coin invites you to take a spin on one of Canada’s scenic routes, the Points East Coastal Drive in Prince Edward Island, where the land meets the sparkling sea and the promise of adventure fills the salty air. Mintage of this coin is limited to only 4,000. GST/HST exempt. 

The Design:

The reverse design by Steve Hepburn features Prince Edward Island’s beautiful coastal scenery. A blue sports car travels along a route inspired by the Points East Coastal Drive, which winds past farmland, beaches and iconic landmarks such as the Panmure Island Lighthouse. The image is framed by stylized icons that represent popular outdoor activities and sights in Canada: (clockwise from top) Niagara Falls; a Christmas tree; a rodeo; wine tasting; dogsledding; music festivals; cherry blossoms; maple syrup season; whale watching; tulips in bloom; coastal drives; and the aurora borealis. The obverse features the year “2019” and face value “3 DOLLARS”, and the framed effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
