1/4 Fine Silver Coin made with Swarovski® crystals - Celebration of Love (2016)

This beautiful 2016 $10 coin features an artistic pair of doves as a celebration of love. Many cultures recognize the dove as a symbol of togetherness and love, as the dove is devoted to its mate for life. The coin contains just over a quarter ounce of fine silver, and has a mintage limited to 15,000.  As a pure silver coin struck by the Royal Canadian Mint, this item is GST/HST exempt. 

The Design:

The image by Canadian artist Anna Bucciarelli uses selective colour to present a pair of doves seated before decorative ornaments enhanced by five Swarovski® elements. The message is clear; every person needs love, whether they are a spouse, child, parent, sibling, relative or a friend.

Doves:

Doves symbolize love, loyalty and faithfulness because the birds stay with their partners for their lifetime, work together to build nests and raise their young together.  The “two doves” symbol predates Christianity and can be found on ancient coins, monuments and catacombs.
