Description

This $10 fine silver coin showcases Kayaking on the River, and represents the province of Quebec. The coin is double dated 1867-2017 with a $10 denomination and weighs just over one half ounce of pure silver.  The mintage is limited to 25,000.  HST/GST exempt.

The Design:

The coin is based on an image by Canadian nature photographer Daniel Dagena is and features a first person perspective of a kayak excursion on a river in Quebec.  Vivid colour over engraving recreates the life-like qualities of the original photograph.  The bright blue stern of the kayak contrasts the background of subdued greens and greys of the landscape.  The clouded sunrise and the fog rolling off the cliffs adds to the sense of absolute tranquility.
